Ó³»­´«Ã½ scientists are continually making new biological discoveries that have the potential to create new and transformative medicines. In some cases, industry will recognize a novel insight emerging from the Ó³»­´«Ã½ and successfully launch a drug discovery project; more often, biological discoveries require additional work to move them to a point where industry is willing and able to ‘take over’. The Center for the Discovery of Therapeutics (CDoT) was created to facilitate this transition. 

We are a team of professional scientists with many years of experience working in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. We have participated in successful (and unsuccessful) drug discovery campaigns, and we are eager to use that experience to help Ó³»­´«Ã½ principal investigators (PIs) move their unique biological insights closer to becoming actual therapeutics. 

Specifically, we leverage the unique technologies and capabilities of the Ó³»­´«Ã½ to:

• Validate new therapeutic hypotheses or approaches
• Develop assays, tools and reagents that are necessary to launch or that can accelerate a drug discovery project 
• Create initial chemical matter, biologics or tools that de-risk a therapeutic hypothesis in proof-of-concept experiments
• Identify new therapeutic opportunities and help secure funding to advance ideas and technologies that benefit the Ó³»­´«Ã½ community
