A team of scientists from the ӳý of MIT and Harvard, the McGovern Institute for Brain Research at MIT, the Institute for Medical Engineering & Science at MIT, and the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard University has adapted a CRISPR protein that targets RNA (rather than DNA) as a rapid, inexpensive, highly sensitive diagnostic tool with the potential for a transformative effect on research and global public health.

Researchers, clinicians, patient advocates, and industry representatives gathered recently at the ӳý for the third annual Glom-NExT Symposium (Glom-NExT3), organized by institute member of the ӳý, Anna Greka. With the goal of bringing stakeholders together to discuss advancing therapeutics for kidney disease, the symposium featured talks and a roundtable discussion with patient advocates, FDA representation and thought leaders in the field. Due to popular demand, the meeting has been rebranded as Kidney-NExT and will be coming back to ӳý next spring.
